FINAL REFLECTION

➼    Experience

To be honest, I was initially very stressed out when I started this module. I thought we will be having an introduction first, knowing our classmates and do a briefing about our upcoming tasks, but what happens is the opposite. It was very fast-paced and we got to the coursework right away while I'm still struggling on using those Adobe software that I'm not even familiar of.

Because of this, I naturally had to keep up the pace to survive in this module, or else I would fail. As a result, I studied a lot, and it became less stressful over time without even realizing it. In fact, I enjoyed these 14 weeks and have no regrets about choosing this major.

I'm very grateful to Mr. Vinod, who was my lecturer for this module. He demonstrated a very professional manner in his teaching and provided us with constructive feedbacks that significantly enhanced our typography skills. This is what learning at university is all about—receiving feedback from real professionals like him, which helps us improve exponentially.

Throughout this semester, I'm sure that I've learned and improved a lot. In the upcoming years, I will continue to learn and strive in my field, aspiring to be someone who could influence this industry greatly. With the basic knowledge that I have right now, I'm ready to explore more complex creative challenges in the future.

➼    Observations

One thing I noticed right away is how subtly yet profoundly typography is present in our daily lives. It is everywhere, on posters, billboards, flyers—basically, almost everything we usually encounter is related to type. Even the small tweaks could influence strongly on the tone or clarity of the message. Out of all the modules that I've learnt, I figured that typography is the most balanced between its functionality and its visual appeal.

➼    Findings

I found that typography is more than just design, its the key to effective communication. It's not just about arranging text or choosing fonts, but rather its much more complex: shaping how messages in types are perceived by the readers.

This marks the conclusion of an fulfilling experience! Looking forward to what lies ahead next semester!
