➼ Photoshop & Digital Imaging
In our first lecture, Mr. Fauzi stated that learning Adobe Photoshop is essential for every graphic designers out there, some usage of photoshop are as follows:
1. Express creativity,
2. Create graphic designs,
3. Restoration of old images,
4. Combine images with a message artistically,
5. Make use of brushes,
6. Change photo colors,
7. Rectify mistakes in photographs.
And in this module, we will utilize digital imaging almost in all of our tasks. Digital imaging converts printed materials into digital with an imaging device or a digital scanner. Mr. Fauzi explained in detail about this, also he shared few tips to succeed in becoming a good graphic designer in the future.

II. TUTORIAL
In this week, we were tasked to create our e-portfolio for this particular module and register our pinterest board about our favourite graphic design compositions, so that Mr. Fauzi would know our graphic design preferences.
III. PRACTICAL
➼ Design #1
I’m drawn to graphic designs that
are related with Japanese aesthetics using light natural tones (in this work,
it’s the pastel blue skies) that portray calmness and tranquility. It's about
finding emotion through simplicity, that even small details will affect the
overall sensation. If I could express the feeling in detail, it would be like a
moment where the time seems to slow down, we will be fully present, letting go
of every worry we had, also us becoming more aware of the little things that
happen around us, finding it like a very meaningful experience.

➼ Design #2
For this design, it has more
emphasis on text and uses very minimal imagery. The black Chinese seemingly
caligraphic letters match very well with the beige neutral background. This
kind of graphic design relies heavily on good typography rather than visual
images like any other designs, which I find very unique.

➼ Design #3
I am also attracted to designs with minimalist comical-like illustration. This will allow the readers to focus on the text without the illustration overpowering the message. This is due to the illustration only occupying a small portion of the whole design, allowing the bold black text to dominate the composition. The black text in the design mimics ink written on paper giving the design a vintage vibe.

IV. REFLECTIONS
Before I entered university, I always assumed that even without using Adobe Photoshop I will still be able to do my tasks professionally. But now I realized that Adobe applications are today's industry standard, and they have always been since decades ago. So in order to thrive, I must learn how to use these applications and apply it in my daily designing tasks, so that I could be familiar with it as soon as possible.
