REFLECTIVE WRITING
This project was completed in a very short period of time, but I’ve already learned a lot, especially about patience. I realized that mistakes are part of the process, and most of the burdens I felt were only in my mind. Mistakes are not obstacles to success, but rather it's a stepping stone that will help us improve further.
In reality, everything will eventually be ok once we really start doing it. Look at how complex doing double exposure is, for example—using advanced masking techniques to create a surrealist-style artwork that is very eye catching. But once you’ve started doing it and learning the steps one by one, you find those things becoming more manageable.
Doing a joint project with other modules in this project also made me a bit nervous, I was afraid that the assessment on either module might not align with the other one. Hence, I kept it simple to be in the safe zone, but the challenge is the effort to make the 'simple' design looks interesting for both the image and the type illustration. I really tried hard to meet the assessment criteria for both modules.
Ultimately, whether a work is good or not is always subjective for every person. Hence, I should not think too much about it. As long as I put effort to my work, follow the instructions given, and use my problem solving skills against the creative challenge, then it will definitely turn out fine.
